Papers of W.T. Stead, 1897, n.d.

The collection contains two letters to American editor, John S. Phillips, 1897 September 22 and November 6. In the first he proposes to write a book "Satan's Invisible World Displayed" or "The Genesis of Greater New York." The second letter is a covering letter for a portion of the manuscript [not present] and notes that the U.S. edition will not need illustrations as the English one will. With these is a page from an unidentified magazine containing four portraits of Stead and a brief biography.
